Headstand Bench – Easy and Fun
The Ananda Headstand Bench is very easy for people of all ages and abilities to use.
Place the bench against the wall with the U-shaped opening facing you.
Kneel in front of the bench with your hands on the arm rails.
Bend your head into the opening and rest your shoulders on the padding of the bench.
Lift your knees off the ground, walking your toes toward the bench.
While pressing your hands into the arm rails and pushing toward the floor, gently kick your feet up and toward the wall behind you. It is easiest to keep your knees bent.
Once your toes touch the wall, you can straighten your legs. When ready, you can then balance without touching the wall.
And you can try some alternatives by lifting and lowering with straight legs or with one leg at a time. It’s a great core strengthener!
- Press down through forearms and lift your feet
- Keep your core tight while lifting your legs
- The strong base provides stability while straightening into headstand
- Balance or use the wall
It’s fun, it’s healthy. Give it a try!
